Your Stay in Shropshire

The Old Vicarage is located in a quiet and peaceful area of Shropshire. Opening as a Hotel in 2001 by David & Sarah Blakstad, The Old Vicarage Hotel has 14 Bedrooms, onsite Orangery Restaurant, cosy lounge and bar area.

Located in a tranquil area of Shropshire, but just a stones throw away from busy market towns such as Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock,  Shrewsbury, Ludow and Telford. If you want more of a city vibe, Wolverhampton is just 20 minutes away by car.

Serving A La Carte lunches and dinners, our Orangery Restaurant is well known and loved for its delicious and luxurious meals and making every night an occasion to get dressed up for. With floor to ceiling glass providing breath taking views of the rolling Shropshire countryside.

If you fancy something more casual, relax in the lounge with a coffee, or visit the bar for a tipple. Come try the local Wrekin Gin - it is always a favourite.

  Unforgettable experience

What an unforgettable experience, getting married to my beautiful wife in this beautiful, elegant and family run venue. Even if the weather had been awful, the staff made our day so special, and went above and beyond to make sure everything we needed was available. It felt as though we were at home and that’s a huge compliment, as they just made us so welcome. Thank you all for playing such a great role in our special day

  Excellent venue

Excellent venue for a wedding which was superbly organised throughout the day. Food was good and the staff helpful. A slick operation throughout. Actual wedding ceremony held in the dining room which was then transformed in minutes back into a dining room. On the whole a very good experience.

  Perfect in every way

My son had his wedding reception here last weekend. It was perfect in every way. So many of his guests commented about how brilliant the venue is. The venue is immaculate and well run, the proprietors were easy to do business with. We found that their wedding rates were competitive, and there were no shocks when paying the bill. Service is good, plenty of staff, food was excellent, and bedrooms were large and comfortable. The place is located in beautiful countryside, with immaculate gardens benefiting from wonderful views. What more can I say? We had a perfect 24 hours.

  The Old Vicarage excels

The Old Vicarage excels at being a hotel, restaurant and wedding venue. We married here on Saturday 16 February. What can I say, the wedding was perfect in every possible respect. Our gratitude and thanks in particular to Sarah and Amy who both realised our vision and helped create the wedding my wife dreamed of. The team at the Old Vicarage ensured every detail, no matter how small, was exactly to our requirements. Sarah and her team clearly understand what a wedding day means to the bride and groom and they do their utmost to ensure everything runs smoothly and are extremely accommodating.

  Utterly magical

Words cannot describe how thankful and grateful we are to Sarah, Amy and the team at The Old Vicarage. Our wedding day on Sat 26th October 2019 was perfect in every way. All of our dreams and ideas became a reality. The venue, the food, the music, the staff, everything was utterly magical. We will be forever thankful for making our dreams come true. With our warmest wishes, Louise & John Pimm x

  Birthday celebration

I decided to celebrate my 50th Birthday at the Old Vicarage. I had a total of 24 guests for Sunday Lunch and it was just perfect. From the very beginning of me organising the meal, Sarah was so helpful & accommodating to my requirements. I had a long table in the Orangery, the table & chairs were covered to exactly what I wanted, we were even very discreetly sectioned off from the other diners with a beautiful flower display. The food was excellent and all the staff were so professional and nothing too much trouble. We were able to sit out in the lounge area after our meal, which was very comfortable and nobody felt they had to rush off. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant for a celebration, or even just to dine in the restaurant, food was excellent Thank you all
